Hand radio use in auto. Use of a converter or voltage adapter.I want to use my hand radio, which runs with 4 batteries of 1.5 Volt each , total 6 Volt ( 6 V ), in my auto. My auto battery has 12 Volt ( 12 V ). How to join this radio? Answer: You need a voltage converter ( voltage adapter ), which reduces the 12 Volt to 6 Volt. Electronic components inside the converter or adapter reduce and stabilize the voltage so that you can use equipment, which work on lower voltage, e.g. portable radio and cassette recorder. You have to join the input of the converter to the auto battery. The output join to the hand radio. Make sure you join the wires with the right polarity. |
