| Ohm's Law
Georg Simon Ohm lived from 1789 - 1854 and found the mathematical
---------------
relationship between voltage, current and resistance in an
electrical circuit.
E = voltage (electromotive force) [in volts]
R = resistance [in ohms]
I = current (intensity) [in amperes]
Ohm's law in formula:
---------------------
                        E               E
E = I x R          I = ----        R = ----
                        R               I

Example:
-------- Image : Schematic for a simple circuit.
A voltage E of 24 volts is applied to a resistor R of
6 ohms.
What is the current I through the resistor R ?
Answer: The current is equal to the voltage divided by the
        resistance.
     E              24 volts
I = ----       I = ---------           I = 4 amperes
     R               6 ohms            =============
