Answer: As preventive measures could be done: plant early and practice crop rotation. Question: How weeding should be done on a peanuts land ? Answer: Take out the weeds from the ground early. After pegging has started, use hand weeding only. Be careful that you don't disturb the pegs. Question: Which are the common varieties of peanuts ? Answer: Common peanuts varieties are: upright varieties ( also called bunch varieties) and runner varieties. Question: Some of my peanuts show white moldy growth. What can I do ? ![]() Image 8: Peanuts with moldy growth. Answer: Do not eat the infected nuts. Also do not feed the infected nuts to livestock. It could be the Aflatoxin fungus ( dangerous ). As preventive measures could be done: Choose the planting time careful. Plant at the right time, that the harvest will be in the dry season. Dry the peanuts immediateley after harvest.
