Plant growing from leaf cutting

Leaf , just taken from the plant. The leaf is about 10 cm long, including stalk.

The leaf shown in the picture is from a plant known as bryophyllum . It is a type of herbaceous plant. You can plant it in flower pots or directly on the ground . It grows healthy on loam, peat , and black earth in tropical weather .

It is very easy to plant ; it is just by leaf cuttings. You can watch the growing process below . (You may put the leaf anywhere as long as not under the hot sunlight.)

6 weeks later : Leaf with growing new plants. The new plants are about 3 cm high .

Leaf rooting :
The new plant will start growing from the leaf and after a few weeks it will look similar as on the image 2. Now, you may put the leaf either on the surface of the sand in the flower pot or on the ground. Then , you can spray some water on it. It will grow and reach the height of about 50 to 60 cm . That is all about the growing stage of the bryophyllum .

In some villages , people use this leaf plant to release headache , toothache , and for other use.
