Cocoa ( cacao )The fruits ( pods ) of a cocoa treeThe fruits of a cocoa tree are called pods and the ripe fruits can have different colors, for example green, yellow, orange or red.The pods can grow more than 20 cm long and contain the cocoa beans.
Steps for harvesting the cocoa beans1) Cut off the cocoa pods from the cocoa tree and collect the pods.2) Open the pods and take out the beans. 3) Pile and cover the beans with a cloth or similar for 7 to 10 days. 4) Dry the beans in the sun or other heat. 5) Pack the beans in bags for shipment.
